The picture of Mandela has vanished...
INVISIBLE MAN: The Bureau for Information booklet ‘Talking With the ANC’ was a surprise hit in the townships, thanks to a portrait of Nelson Mandela, the only photograph the government has allowed since the ANC leader’s imprisonment in 1964.
The booklet has since been quietly re-issued, with just one change: the picture of Mandela has vanished to be replaced by an innocuous group picture of a 1930s ANC meeting.
