The garage of African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) president Julius Malema was broken into during the early hours of Thursday at his Sandton home, Johannesburg police said. Spokesperson Inspector Moses Maphakhele said an unknown number of men entered the residential premises of Malema and broke into his garage. "They broke into the boot of Malema's C-class Mercedes and stole a handbag containing his passport, identity document and bank cards. "They did not manage to enter house and no arrests have been made," he said. The ANCYL condemned the burglary of its president's home. "We condemn this act of cowardice in the strongest possible terms," said spokesperson Vuyiswa Tulelo. "An attack on leaders of the ANCYL is an attack on the ANCYL itself." -- Sapa TOPICS IN THIS ARTICLE
