Annanias Mathe case postponed

The case against C-max escapee Annanias Mathe was postponed by the Johannesburg High Court on Monday.

The case against C-max escapee Annanias Mathe was postponed by the Johannesburg High Court on Monday.

Judge Geraldine Borchers postponed the matter to Monday next week when a trial date would be set.

The postponement was due to Mathe’s counsel, Advocate Liz Serrao, being busy with the Legal Aid Board in order to finalise fees on behalf of Mathe.

Mathe appeared in the dock guarded by police officers armed with sub-machine guns.

Mathe indicated he preferred a translator who spoke Mozambican Portuguese.

The Shangaan translator present in court would not be used for the trial.—Sapa
