ANC turns to comic strip to boost electioneering

The African National Congress has launched a comic strip to boost its chances of being re-elected next month.

The African National Congress (ANC) has launched a comic strip to boost its chances of being re-elected next month.

The strip, announced in ANC Today on Wednesday, is to appear in the Daily Sun every week on Tuesdays until the end of next month.

“The comic series is the latest in a number of platforms that portray the lives of ordinary South Africans,” the announcement said. “It will look at what has been achieved since the dawn of democracy, but also what still needs to be done, and the challenges that people face.”

The comic series acknowledges that while South Africans have achieved much, there is a lot more that still needs to be done.

Working together, it says, we can do more.

The stories follow Mhambi (34) and his family and friends as they go about their everyday lives and the ANC hopes that this series will stimulate debate about the challenges facing the country, and what South Africans can do, working together, to meet these challenges.—I-Net Bridge
