SA vehicle sales jump in February
South Africa’s total industry new vehicle sales increased by 20,5% year-on-year to 39 312 units in February, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Naamsa) said on Tuesday.
When stripping out sales from Associated Motor Holdings and Amalgamated Automobile Distributors—which report separately—sales rose by 16,2% to 34 314 units compared with February last year, Naamsa said.
February marks the second consecutive month of a year-on-year increase after nearly three years of declining sales, signalling the key employment sector is recovering from its slump, although the recovery comes off a low base.—Reuters
