Conceptual artist Willem Boshoff continues his intrigue with the power and powerlessness of language in a new show.

Conceptual artist Willem Boshoff continues his intrigue with the power and powerlessness of language in a new show, Swat, which opened this week.

The ‘ambiguity of words, playful provocation and grave disquiet are ubiquitous elements in the work of Willem Boshoff”, reads the Goodman Gallery statement.

The works apparently ‘confront capitalism, religious text, exploitation, globalisation and imperialism”. Concepts from the Torah, the Qur’an and the Bible are explored.

The Goodman Gallery, 163 Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkwood, until September 24. Tel: 011 788 1113.
