Jo'burg comedy pick: December 9 2011

Comedian Jimmy Carr is ­apparently known for “deadpan delivery and risqué material”.

These attributes will probably appeal to those who are tired of ­embarrassing local ­stand-ups with their ­characteristic hysterical deliveries.

Carr has made scores of DVDs and television appearances and won just about every comedy award known to man: Nuts Awards, Language and Film Talent Awards and a British Comedy Award in 2006. This weekend he will have his work cut out for him when he plays to Jozi’s sometimes difficult comedy crowd.
