Petrol price to rise by 34c a litre next week

The petrol price will rise by 34 cents a litre at midnight on Wednesday, the department of energy said on Friday.

Diesel with 0.05% sulphur will go down by one cent, diesel with 0.005% sulphur will drop by two cents a litre.

Illuminating paraffin (wholesale) will drop by three cents a litre and the single maximum national retail price will drop by four cents a litre.

The maximum retail price for LP gas will go up by 50 cents a litre.

During the period under review, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin increased and the average rand/dollar exchange rate strengthened. -- Sapa
