Madiba in hospital for scheduled medical check-up
Former President Nelson Mandela has been admitted to hospital for a scheduled medical check-up, the presidency said.

"Doctors are conducting tests and have thus far indicated that there is no reason for any alarm," said spokesperson Mac Maharaj.
He said the check-up was to manage existing conditions that came at his age.
"We appeal for privacy for Madiba and his family," Maharaj said.
The hospitalisation comes only months after the 94-year-old received treatment for a lung infection and gallstones. – Sapa.
