CAPE TOWN, June 3 (ANA) – Young South Africans keen to improve their digital skills and marketability in the job market can now apply to a course that has key Google modules incorporated into it.

Western Cape MEC for Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde, said the three-month DigifyPRO course, which was backed by Google, “is on offer to young people in Cape Town aiming to get the training they need to start their tech careers”.

Winde urged people between the ages of 18 and 30 and who live in Cape Town and Johannesburg to apply to the course as it was an extensive digital course that offered “training in digital marketing, social media and content creation”.

Winde added that it also “incorporates key Google modules including Search, AdWords, YouTube and Analytics”.

“Trainees will work closely with brands, industry insiders and agencies to develop campaigns for live briefs.”

The course forms part of Digify Africa, a Livity Africa initiative, and Winde said the Western Cape government, which has invested over R2 billion to connect residents to broadband, “supported a range of initiatives to improve digital literacy”.

Young people interested in applying to the course would find more information at http://digifyafrica.com/p/about-digify-africa.
