Paintings and sculptures long stored away are finding a new audience as museums strive for mass appeal with high-tech websites packed with video, podcasts and interactive elements. Moreover, these institutions are finding that rather than diminishing the number of museum visits, the web is actually boosting in-person attendance.

US viewers miss late-night gags as strike bites

As the Hollywood writers’ strike winds through a second week, many American viewers are missing the political satire they’ve come to love on late-night talk shows, but otherwise appear unconcerned. The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Saturday Night Live are the main casualties of the strike that started on November 5.
