Flying Lotus tweets his inspiration
In a rare event, electronic music producer Flying Lotus tweeted the inspiration behind each song on his latest album, Until the Quiet Comes.
The great-nephew of jazz pianist Alice Coltrane (the wife of jazz legend John Coltrane), Steven Ellison has been captivating audiences with his music since his debut album 1983 hit the shelves in 2006.
But it's not just his own music that has been making waves – his label Brainfeeder has also been making headlines, which released killer albums by Samiyam, the Gaslamp Killer, and Lorn and Teebs over the past few years.
His fourth album under the Flying Lotus moniker Until the Quiet Comes was released on September 27 2012 and has been garnering rave reviews.
The BBC said: "Until the Quiet Comes further catapults Ellison into the cosmos and away from all things terrestrial. He's the king of his domain, and there is no runner-up."
The New Musical Express said: "Ultimately, this album is the sound of the future". Then this week Ellison took to Twitter and invited his fans to join him on a listening experience. Here it is.
