Prepare The Iv Drip, Rihanna Is Coming To Sa

Following Big Concerts ridiculous attempt at encrypted updates on Facebook and Twitter that a singer with more than 17-million Twitter followers is coming to South Africa – eager fans guessed names of who the singer might be. The Barbados singer was top of the list.

After Big Concerts spent all of Friday dropping hints, Heat magazine took it upon itself to announce on Twitter that the singer is indeed Rihanna.

Big Concerts has been adamant the announcement will only be on Monday despite posting a photo of the singer that shows Rihanna’s tattoo of Goddess Isis on her chest.

The 25-year-old is bringing her Diamonds World Tour to Johannesburg and Cape Town in October.

This will not be her first time to perform in the country. In 2006 she was Jay-Z’s opening act and performed songs off her first and second album.

Say what you want, Robyn Rihanna Fenty is one of the greatest stars of this century.

Rihanna has sold over 30-million albums and 120-million singles worldwide and has received seven Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards, 18 Billboard Music Awards and two Brit Awards.

In 2012, Forbes ranked her as the fourth most powerful celebrity of 2012 , with earnings of $53-million between May 2011 and May 2012. That same year, Time magazine named Rihanna one of the most influential people in the world.

Riri’s to-hell-with-the-rest attitude, while she parties on private yachts around the world with her friends has everyone paying attention. Love or hate her, you’re talking about her and watching what she is doing.

The You Da One singer has more than once posted photos of herself on Twitter attached to an IV drip in a hospital due to exhaustion and dehydration.

At times fans have paid the price as Rihanna would cancel her concerts because she would be too ill to perform.

This Rihanna fan can admit that she is no phenomenal singer or live performer. Just watch the YouTube video where she murders Mariah Carey’s Hero at a talent show, a year before she was signed by Jay-Z. But whatever it is that Jay saw all those years ago, I see.

Over the years and seven albums later, Rihanna has developed a stronger voice and one can appreciate the unique tone she has as she drops hit after hit and lives the life that every 25-year-old can only dream about.

Rihanna will perform at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday October 13 2013 and Cape Town Stadium Wednesday October 16 2013.

Tickets go on sale for Johannesburg on Thursday April 11 at 9am and are R330-R930 and for Cape Town on Friday April 12 at 9am priced R275-R820.
