This is combined with the two-day Art in the Hills exhibition by leading local artists. The exciting new event is held in the idyllic gardens of the Makaranga Garden Lodge and kicks off in Mardi Gras style on Saturday from 4pm when the whole family will be entertained by stilt walkers, jugglers, acrobats, dancers and more. Expect the sounds of jazz and the aroma of roasted nuts in the air. In typical New Orleans style, there will be plenty of gumbo to feast on as well as many other delicacies at the open-air food market. On Sunday from 1pm, the hills come alive with the sound of music as the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Choir, conducted by Lyk Temmingh and Richard Cock, is joined by the Kearsney College Choir and other school ensembles.
