But recently his lens was trained on the ancient Indian city of Varanasi. Here he found himself, by sheer chance, in the company of fellow KwaZulu-Natal shutterbugs Gareth Bright and Caitlin Fay Smith. Their collective effort is captured in a striking new exhibition titled Life & Death Between Chai. The special affinity developed by all three photographers for Varanasi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, is clearly evident in their beautiful imagery.
