Theatre: Crossing Borders

Johannesburg

Xenophobia, languages that are silenced, identities in conflict and the burning question: Why are we so angry?

Theatre: Crossing Borders

This year’s Drama for Life SA Season, titled Crossing Borders, tackles the critical emergent debate about social transformation in South Africa and invites the public to watch performances, exhibitions and films and join in reflections and debates about who we have become 18 years into our constitutional democracy. The season rounds off this weekend with performances at the Wits Theatre and the Market Theatre complexes. Look out for the photo exhibition Illuminating Change, Gina Schmukler’s production The Line, created through interviews with those who experienced the xenophobic attacks in 2008, and the documentary series Why Are We so Angry?
