Folk music: White Mountain heats

South Africa's most laid-back live music festival, White Mountain, takes place in the Drakensberg over the Heritage Day weekend in September and features the finest acoustic talent the country has to offer.

Heats take place every Thursday in August and the finals are held on September 6.

Leading up to the festival is a month-long initiative, including an acoustic competition, which will see the winner walk off with a main-stage slot at White Mountain, a mastered live recording and R15 000 worth of musical gear.
