Music: BLK JKS

Johannesburg

When Afropunk rock stars BLK JKS arrived on the scene a few years ago, they electrified it.

It was not just the locals who were impressed. Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones agreed that BLK JKS’s debut CD, After Robots, was their top album of 2009. Since then the concentric energies that bound the four-member group have somewhat dissipated as members have gone on to work on side projects. This Friday they join up again to play alongside DJs Fixx and Ambush at the recently opened Puma Social Club.
