Visual arts workshop: Refiguring Women

Attend a workshop on Refiguring Women, which will examine the role of women in the visual arts.

It is part of the 2012 ArtsWork Series, which includes talks, presentations and discussions with 24 women from different parts of Africa, the diaspora and Germany.  The participating artists are invited to give papers, visual presentations or installations on the themes of the body, position and trans-identities. The workshop is a Goethe-Institut initiative.On November 27 at 6.30pm you can attend Zanele Muholi’s exhibition Faces and Phases, followed by the artist in conversation. On November 28 at 3.30pm there is a public talk at the Parking Gallery, King Kong Building, 6 Verwey Street, New Doornfontein, with Rehema Chachage, Usha Seejarim, Edwige Apologan, Bongi Dhlomo, Konjit Seyoum and N’Goné Fall.
