On the bill is Katlego, whose sound has been defined as “Afro-indigenous soul”. She has previously performed with Bheki Khoza and also opened for Linton Kwesi Johnson. The centre is the perfect setting, bringing to life Sophiatown’s legacy as South Africa’s first home of urban jazz in the 1950s. The venue is the original 1930s home of AB Xuma, a doctor, political figure and philanthropist.
