Art: Third Paradise

Johannesburg

December 21, the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere, is considered by many an auspicious date.

Because of the tilt of the Earth, it is also the longest day of the year in the southern hemisphere and to mark this, the Nirox Foundation is hosting artistic events and performances by artists Willem Boshoff, Marcus Neustetter, João Orecchia and others. The event has been organised in response to Italian artist and art theorist Michelangelo Pistoletto’s appeal to “to take part in the great inaugural celebration of the Third Paradise”.
