What started out as little more than a farm stall selling organic vegetables out of car boots, which was long before food allergies were fashionable, is now a Johannesburg institution. Next week the market will be holding the last of its moonlight markets of the year. The Alexandra Gospel Choir will perform and there will be children’s entertainment. The market’s emphasis is on handcrafted goods, clothing from natural fibres and fresh and organically grown produce. At this time of year it also includes Christmas food, decorations and gifts.
