Art: Troyeville's Bedtime Story

Johannesburg

The Troyeville Bedtime Story is a thrilling tale of imagination, daring and the making of one of Jo'burg's most significant pieces of public art.

The collaboration between curator, artist and performer Lesley Perkes and co-conspirator photographer-artist Johannes Dreyer produced a public sculpture on the corner of Troyeville’s Bezuidenhout and Viljoen streets that continues to inspire new bedtime stories and performances. This photographic exhibition documents the living, breathing story of this concrete bed and the forces that have shaped it.
