Making Faces
The portrait has always been an important and revealing element in South African art, exposing the attitude of the artist as much as it describes the subject. A new exhibition at the Johans Borman Fine Art Gallery looks at the evolution of the genre.
Group exhibition Personas is on show at the Johans Borman Fine Art Gallery in Cape Town until November 26. It features artists ranging from Sanell Aggenbach to Maggie Laubser, from Marlene Dumas to Georgina Gratrix, Peter Clarke to Pieter Hugo, Dumile Feni to Pierneef and from Brett Murray to Richard Mudariki. For more about the exhibition go to the gallery's website. blog comments powered by Disqus |
