Buthelezi In Hospital: 'nothing To Worry About'

Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi is doing well in hospital, party general secretary Musa Zondi said on Monday.

“He is in good health and there is nothing to worry about,” he said.

Buthelezi was admitted to the Empangeni Garden Clinic, north of Durban on Friday, suffering from fatigue.

His spokesperson, Liezl van der Merwe, said doctors had ordered him to rest and not to receive any visitors at this stage.

“We thank the public for their understanding in this regard.”

It was expected that Buthelezi would be discharged within a week, she said.

“It is well known that throughout more than a decade in public life, Buthelezi has never taken holidays and works at a pace that few can keep up with,” she said.

He had not taken a break after the local government elections in May. — Sapa
