Mafikizolo has been nominated twice for song of the year in this year's Metro FM Music Awards.

Urban radio station Metro FM on Thursday night announced this year's nominees for the 13th annual Metro FM Music Awards.

Though there are not many solid albums that made the list of nominees this year, the song of the year category has 10 strong contenders competing for the coveted title. Mi Casa's Jika, Mafikizolo's Khona and Happiness and Uhuru for Y-Tjukuja among others.

The four-man producers, Uhuru, who are also behind Mafikizolo's hit Khona, have been nominated for best dance album, best duo/group, and best collaboration.

Danny K was nominated in two genre categories for his album Good Look – best African pop album and best R&B album.

This year only three rappers are nominated in the best hip-hop album category, namely iFani, Kwesta and L-Tido.

The awards will be held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Conference Centre (ICC), in Durban on the March 1 and will be broadcast live on SABC1, at 8PM. To vote, SMS the category followed by the name of the artist to 34764.
