The Mail & Guardian's readership base has increased by 10% in the past year, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The Mail and Guardian's circulation figures have spiked in the past three months, despite declining print circulations in South Africa and abroad.

Africa's largest media company, Media24, has admitted to falsifying the circulation figures of 12 of its 60 magazine titles. Three senior managers from Touchline Media, a Media24 subsidiary, have resigned and are under investigation in connection with the false circulation numbers.

This is the fourth consecutive period in which the M&G has shown a year-on-year percentage increase in excess of 10%.

TheM&G has seen its circulation figures steadily climb over the past 18 months to reach record highs in the publication's 16-year history.
