ANC MP denies being kicked off SAA flight

An African National Congress (ANC) MP on Monday denied being booted off a South African Airways (SAA) flight after an alleged drunken argument with another passenger. Frans Tlokwe Maserumule said he left the plane willingly after the incident, which took place before the flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town took off.

Truck drives into plane at Cape Town airport

A truck drove into a stationary aircraft at Cape Town International Airport on Wednesday morning, minutes before the aircraft was due to take off. No one was injured in the incident, which happened at about 8.30am, airport media officer Deidre Hendricks said. ”There was an incident early this morning … It has had no impact on airport operations,” she said.

SA passengers hit by flight delays

Another local flight, this time involving an aircraft belonging to South African Express, was delayed on Tuesday in George, it was disclosed on Wednesday. This followed the delay of a South African Airways flight in East London — also on Tuesday. The South African Express flight was delayed for more than 12 hours.

SAA restructuring: 220 managers leave

More than 220 managers will have left South African Airways (SAA) by the end of the month as part of the national airline’s restructuring strategy, its spokesperson said on Monday. "SAA has approached the issue of labour in a phased manner, starting with management," said Robyn Chalmers, spokesperson for SAA.
