Dozens of people were killed and more than 100 injured when six bombs ripped through the centre of Jaipur, one of India’s most popular tourist destinations. The explosions, which began at 7.30pm, took place in markets surrounding the city’s pink palace, the Hawa Mahal, and its main temple complex.
Police in India have arrested a man for stealing more than 100 sperm samples from a laboratory in the western state of Maharashtra, a news report said on Tuesday. Police told the Times of India daily that Anil Punjaba Mohite had stolen 101 sperm samples from Cryobank, a sperm bank in central Aurangabad city, last week.

India’s worst-ever outbreak of bird flu could turn into a disaster, an official warned on Tuesday, as five people were reportedly quarantined with symptoms of the virus. Eight districts in the eastern state of West Bengal have been hit by the virus, and dead birds are being sold and locals said to be ”feasting” on cheap chicken.

India’s most famous monument, the Taj Mahal, is turning yellow, and the Archaeological Survey of India has decided to give it a mud-pack beauty treatment to restore its pristine white beauty, news reports said on Wednesday. The mud packs will be left to dry for a couple of days and then be washed off.
