Grammys: Kanye West, Aretha Franklin hold court

Two years ago, Kanye West’s Grammy afterparty was a booze-filled, late-night affair with 3 000 screaming guests, bikini-clad women — and his mother, Donda, in the house. He was more subdued at this year’s party, celebrating four Grammy wins on Sunday night in tribute to Donda West, but it was still a boozy, celeb-filled event.

Oprah ‘shaken’ by school sex claims

Cops probe abuse allegations at Oprah school

South African police are investigating alleged abuses at billionaire United States television magnate Oprah Winfrey’s all-girl leadership academy, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday. Rapport newspaper has reported a matron at the school allegedly fondled one of the pupils, and grabbed a girl by the throat and threw her against a wall.

Arguments end in Phil Spector’s murder trial

Prosecutors did not present sufficient evidence to convict Phil Spector for the murder of B-movie actress Lana Clarkson, defense attorneys for the rock legend said on Friday. ”This case exemplifies reasonable doubt,” attorney Linda Kenney-Baden told the nine-man, three-woman jury, which is expected to begin deliberations on Monday.
