SARS CUTS RATES

THE SOUTH African Revenue Service lowered the interest rate it charges on overdue taxes on Friday, from 16% to 14,5% per annum. The move is due to recent trends in interest rates. SARS also cut the rate paid on overpaid tax from 12% to 10,5% per year.
