TWO Netball South Africa players were gunned down in a parking lot at the close of the Unibank South Africa Open Championships on Thursday night. Irma du Preez (27) from Port Elizabeth, and Lia Liebenberg (30) from Kempton Park, were both shot in the head at in the parking lot of the Avion Park stadium. Their bodies were found next to their car. One of the victims was found with the upper part of her body hanging over the boot of the car. Police spokeswoman Ina Middel says the motive for the killings appears to be robbery.
