SA TROUNCE GHANA FOR FIRST GOLD

THE South African men’s swept to easy 8-1 victory over Ghana when they collected the country’s first gold medals at the All Africa Games at the Randburg Stadium on Thursday. Greg Nicol scored five goals, while Mike Cullen bagged a hat-trick. The Ghanaian team’s only score came through Ben Tarley, who took advantage of a gap in the defence to get the consolation goalscore a modest yet face-saving goal. The South Africans play Zimbabwe on Saturday.
