HOBDAY RETURNS FOR SWAZI CLASSIC

THE Vodacom Tour makes its first major foray into Africa this week when the Royal Swazi Sun Classic tees off at the Royal Swazi Sun Country Club on Tuesday. Justin Hobday returns as the defending champion in this R200000 event played at the par-72 Royal Swazi Sun golf course, nestled in the beautiful Ezulwini Valley and just outside the capital of Mbabane. Hobday won the event with a total of nine-under par 207 last year, beating Titch Moore by three strokes. The course itself is a hilly par-72 layout which plays relatively short by professional standards. Most of the par-fives are within range of even medium-length hitters and many of the par-fours demand only a drive and pitching wedge. However, the level of difficulty was increased with the introduction of more water hazards in 1990. — MWP
