Carin Runciman

Carin Runciman is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Social Change, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Glasgow. Her research specializes in the politics of post-apartheid protest and social movements, and has appeared in Current Sociology and Review of African Political Economy , amongst others. She currently leads the Rebellion of the Poor research team alongside Professor Peter Alexander and Dr Trevor Ngwane, a quantitative and qualitative research project analysing community protests.
