BACKGROUND: Amnesty International (AI) is a non-profit global human rights movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. The vision of Amnesty International is for every person to enjoy all the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. Amnesty International is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion, and is funded mainly by its membership and public donations.

Amnesty International’s International Secretariat is registered in the UK and has been operating from its London offices since its inception in 1961. However from 2012, Amnesty International embarked on a Global Transition Programme (GTP) where the International Secretariat has been dispersed into many branch offices in different regions around the world. The Southern Africa Regional Office is based in Johannesburg where it coordinates AI’s work in the Southern Africa region.

SPECIFICATIONS: Amnesty International wishes to appoint an external audit firm for its Southern Africa Regional office for a period of five years, commencing with the financial year ended 31 December 2015.

Interested service providers are requested to submit a proposal to [email protected] by close of business Friday, 24 June 2016.

The proposal should include a breakdown of all costs, quoted in South African Rand and inclusive of all taxes. Please indicate clearly any additional costs which are not part of the core service and include a timeline detailing the steps necessary to conduct the Audit.
