Notice is hereby given by the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic and Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs for the Free State Province, Dr B. Malakoane, in terms of section 33 (1) of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003 as amended) of the intention to amend the original declaration of the Seekoeivlei Nature Reserve (Declared in terms of Gazette Notice (Administrators Notice) 32 of the 10th February 1978) by declaring the properties reflected in the schedule herein under as additions to and as part of the SEEKOEIVLEI NATURE RESERVE (in terms of Section 23 (1) (a) (ii) of the aforementioned act);

All located near the town of Memel within the Thabo Mofutsanyane District Municipality and the Phumelela Local Municipality of the Free State Province.
Members of the public are hereby invited to submit written representation on, and/or objections to, the proposed amendment of the declaration of the Seekoeivlei Nature Reserve within 60 days of its publication in the Provincial Gazette (published on the 2nd December 2016 under gazette notice 289 of 2016).
