Call for Expression of Interest

The South African-German Energy Programme (SAGEN), funded by the German government and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in cooperation with the Department of Energy (DoE) the South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC), hosted at the Cape Peninsular University of Technology in Cape Town.

Political and economic developments since 2012 influenced the development and deployment of wind energy in South Africa, and therefore, the estimated number of skilled technicians required to service the wind energy market need to be re-examined for more realistic planning.

GIZ SAGEN is seeking a team of suitably qualified consultants to compare the estimates from the 2012 study with actual figures from the South African wind energy industry, provide revised estimates for employment and training requirements in the South African market going forward, and to estimate the potential demand for training provision from the East African wind market.

GIZ invites eligible and professional service providers with local presence in South Africa to request the documentation to be completed from [email protected] by 12 May 2017. Please quote reference #83257192 when requesting the documentation.
