My daughter has just started in grade nought. That has not stopped her from causing chaos all over the known world. All this week other parents (and grandparents, for that matter, because many of them are the ones who insist on taking the wee darlings to school) have been looking at me strangely. Here’s why.

The 34-year-old Houghton professional bombarded the Woodhill Country Club with seven birdies to win the tournament by five shots.

The inquest into the death of controversial cycling star Marco Pantani will begin in earnest on Monday as Italy come to terms with the loss of one of its fallen heroes. Pantani, the last cyclist to win the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia double in the same year, was found lifeless in a Rimini hotel room on Saturday evening.

Hellenic’s relegation troubles continued when the bottom club in the PSL were hammered 3-0 by Wits University at the PAM Brink stadium on Sunday. Hellenic’s lack of fire power showed and against the Students they had no answer. Wits took the lead in the 16th minute when Gareth Devine netted from an Alois Bunjira cross.
