In January Haiti celebrates the bicentenary of its slave army repelling French troops sent by Napoleon to quell a rebellion, while in April South Africa celebrates a decade of democracy.

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson returns to his hometown of Glasgow to face his former club Rangers and former protégé Alex McLeish in a Champions League ”Battle of Britain”.
