Pule’s friend also in hot water

Following the suspension of Bafana Bafana midfielder Jabu Pule by Kaizer Chiefs, Zulu Royals have done the same with his close friend Thabiso Malatsi for also being absent without leave, according to the Premier Soccer League’s website.

Malatsi, who is on loan to Royals from Chiefs, is reported to have been seen with his Daveyton homeboy Pule last weekend in Johannesburg.

Pule was suspended by Chiefs after disappearing on the eve of their Absa Cup match against Sundowns in Mabopane last Sunday.

He has since been suspended by Amakhosi without pay.

Chiefs announced early this week that he will appear before the club’s disciplinary committee.

Pule is still to report at Chiefs.

Royals spokesperson Chris Mlotshwa said the club’s policy is that if a player is abset without permission, he will not receive his salary.

Malatsi last played for Usuthu on January 25 against Manning Rangers. He then sustained an injury, which has kept him out of action since then.

”Now with what is being reported about Thabiso being with Jabu Pule, we seriously doubt his injury claims,” Mlotshwa is quoted as saying on the website. — Sapa
