The drunken-driving trial of Pretoria High Court Judge Nkola Motata was on Monday postponed by the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court. Magistrate Desmond Nair requested time to peruse the transcribed main oral arguments made by both the defence and the state counsel the last time they were in court. The matter was put off to Thursday for a decision on whether a new witness should be introduced. Defence advocate Danie Dorfling has rejected an application by the prosecution to lead evidence by an unidentified witness. The unknown witness is said to have been at the scene in January 2007 when Motata, who was allegedly drunk at the time, crashed his Jaguar into a perimeter wall of a Hurlingham property. -- Sapa TOPICS IN THIS ARTICLE
