Sasol, the country's biggest fuel supplier, said on Thursday petrol supply in the country would be tight following the closure of a blending station due to a fire. Sasol, the world's biggest maker of motor fuel from coal, last week shut a petrol blending station at its Secunda plant, where it produces diesel from coal, after a fire killed a worker and injured two others. "As a result of the fire, we do expect the petrol supply situation to be tight in the coming week," Sasol spokesperson Jacqui O'Sullivan said in a statement. She said a shortage could be averted if motorists stuck to their normal buying patterns. Sasol was using stocks to meet customer requirements. Repairs to the petrol blending station, damaged in the fire last Wednesday, were ongoing but it wasn't clear when it would resume production, O'Sullivan said. - Reuters TOPICS IN THIS ARTICLE
