Eskom denied reports by Radio 702 on Wednesday that it was considering dropping its proposed tariff increase by 10% from 45%. "I don't know where that comes from," said spokesperson Andrew Etzinger. "We are in the process of consolidating inputs received from a variety of stakeholders and in part from [the South African Local Government Association] and National Treasury." It will submit its final application to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa by next Friday.
