Petrol price to increase in March

The retail prices of petrol will increase by six cents a litre for all grades on March 3, the Department of Energy announced on Friday.

This follows an 18 cents per litre increase last month.

Diesel prices will also increase, with 0,05% sulphur and 0,005% sulphur both going up by four cents per litre.

Wholesale paraffin and illuminating paraffin both go up two cents per litre.

During the period under review, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased.

The average rand/US dollar exchange rate weakened when compared with the previous period. The average exchange rate for the period January 29 2010 to February 25 2010 was 7,6902 compared to 7,4735 during the previous period.—I-Net Bridge
