I love Thai food and my favourite Thai restaurant is Simply Asia in Lynnwood Ridge, Pretoria. I really love eating there.
My husband and friends co-own a Capello restaurant in Nelspruit and, out of loyalty, we regularly frequent the Capello in Sunnyside and Centurion.
I love comedies. The last movie I watched was The Fockers — that was two weeks ago. I am a fan of the series and I have watched Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers. I also love Tyler Perry movies — because they are realistic, the kind of movies that reflect your own circumstances.
They talk to you as an individual, they talk to me as a black woman. Last year I enjoyed the movie, Precious. It was a moving film. I remember crying after seeing it.
Precious is one of those movies that opens your mind. I must say [that] last year I didn’t watch as many movies as I would have wanted to. It was a busy year.
I am a big fan of motivational books and biographies. I find that I read quite a lot of that. I like the biographies of Richard Branson and Nelson Mandela. I also like the motivational book by Kim Meredith called Work Diva: How to Climb the Corporate Ladder without Selling Your Soul.
I am in the corporate world and I want to learn from the people who have been there and done that. Meredith’s book speaks to me and I would recommend it to women who want to go up in their careers.
I am a Christian and I read a lot of spiritual books and the Bible. Sometimes you wake up depressed or in a funny mood and I find reading the Bible lifts my spirits.
I am the marketing manager of Mamelodi Sundowns and for me watching my team at home isn’t leisure. I only relax when we are playing away from home or when I am watching Bafana Bafana.
I grew up in Mamelodi, Pretoria, in a football-loving family. My dad is a big fan of Orlando Pirates and my brother and my entire family loves Sundowns — When I was growing up my father would insist on watching football instead of what we females in the family wanted to watch. I realised that, instead of sulking about not watching a certain programme, it would be better to start enjoying what my father was watching.
My dad still supports Pirates but when Sundowns are playing some other team that are not Pirates, he will support Sundowns. I guess it’s loyalty towards his daughter.
I am big fan of tennis and I enjoy watching Wimbledon and when we have time I play tennis with my husband. My husband is into golf and I want to play golf this year.
I enjoy going to the stadium to watch cricket and football. If you want to enjoy any sport, it’s better to take time to go there and watch it live. You feel the raw emotion, the loyalty of the fans.
