A local fashion designer plans to launch a clothing line named after ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema, in time for Mangaung.
According to the report by the Dispatch, designer Obakeng Ramabodu plans to launch the label at the ANC’s centenary celebrations in Mangaung on January 8.
The clothing line features the logo “Juju” and includes berets, T-shirts, sunglasses, watches and children’s clothing.
The label sports a picture of a large pair of lips, with the Juju name scribbled across it, according to the report.
“It will be fun with bright colours and lots of bling. It is like the beret was made for him; no one can pull it off quite like he can,” Ramabodu was quoted as saying.
The news of the launch came after Malema and other senior leaders were suspended from the ANC earlier this month for bringing the party into disrepute and sowing division among ANC leaders.
Malema was leading a campaign to stop President Jacob Zuma from being re-elected as ANC president at the party’s elective conference at the end of next year. –Sapa
