Church mistakenly directs devotees to porn site

Filipino Catholics were mistakenly told to go to a pornographic website on Monday to watch the streaming of ceremonies installing a new archbishop.

The Archdiocese of Manila had invited devotees to watch the live broadcast of the ceremonies honouring Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle on tvmaria.com, which turned out to be a pornographic site.

The site’s main page shows the picture of a scantily-clad transvestite on a sofa.

Peachy Yamsuam, an information officer of the archdiocese, quickly apologized for the error and directed the public to the correct website, which was tvmaria.net.—Sapa-DPA
