Networking for women in business

Entrepreneurs know it is a lonely path they are walking down
Women are nothing if not creative, and their ability to multitask and balance the responsibilities of the home and the workplace means that they are superbly equipped to take on the challenges of entrepreneurship and job creation.

Here is a list of women business networking groups that could provide exactly that kind of support:

Black Business Women’s Association
The Black Business Women’s Association aims to create an enabling environment for black business women. It was established to formalise the business activities of black women in general under a common umbrella to facilitate networking and access to business opportunities. The association was formed to create a common rallying place for all previously disadvantaged women who are in business in a way that would embrace mutual learning and development.

Business Women’s Association
The Business Women’s Association is a non-profit, voluntary organisation committed to offering real value in the form of leading and training, connecting and supporting members and South African business. As a national association with regional branches, it provides local and national forums where members can exchange ideas, be informed about topical issues and create business opportunities. It acts as a lobby group on women’s business issues, highlighting and publicising not only the barriers to success that may still exist but also the many opportunities available to women in South Africa today. Through strategic partnerships with sponsors, other non-profit organisations, leading companies and business schools, it provides ongoing events and opportunities to advance the interests and needs of women in business.

Fine Women Business Network
The Fine Women Business Network is a platform that supports people to expand their business through networking and opportunities by linking people, products and services. This business networking initiative is designed to give aspiring and existing entrepreneurs the edge by providing a regular forum for business-to-business networks in Cape Town through a variety of networking opportunities.

Inspiring Women
Inspiring Women provides business, financial and personal education, inspiration and motivation for women across South Africa and facilitates opportunities for them to network, learn and be inspired by role models, mentorship and by each other. The organisation has a site that is rich in useful content in the form of articles, job opportunities, reviews, recommendations, event listings and more.

Women in Business
Women in Business aims to empower women to enable participation in and contribution to the economy by facilitating collaboration and creating a platform for sharing knowledge and ideas through regular networking functions.
