The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has so far announced results in 119 constituencies in Bulawayo, Harare, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South provinces and of these, Zanu-PF has taken 76 seats while MDC-T has taken 43.

The MDC-T is however not expected to get many more seats, as the remaining results are in areas where Zanu-PF has performed strongly.

Zanu-PF has made in inroads in provinces previously dominated by the MDC formations, including Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South provinces.

The party has taken 12 of the 13 constituencies in Matabeleland South. The results of one constituency are yet to be announced. Zanu-PF as also won five of the 12 constituencies announced in Matabeleland North.

Zanu-PF is believed to have clinched a majority in Manicaland province, where it won only six of the 26 constituencies in 2008. Five constituencies have been announced so far and Zanu-PF has taken three. Zanu-PF is also expected to get a majority in Midlands.

In Masvingo, Zanu-PF has won all 19 constituencies whose results have been released by ZEC and is destined to win all the 26 seats in the provinces.

In its strongholds of Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West and Mashonaland East, the party is winning by huge margins.

The ZEC confirmed Mbare, Harare North, Harare South, Epworth and Chitungwiza South constituencies in Harare had been won by Zanu-PF, marking a remarkable turnaround for Zanu-PF in the capital city.

The MDC-T though, still has a majority in Harare after clinching 19 of the 26 seats announced so far.
